There is another midweek Danske Bank Premiership fix tonight, including a game being shown live under the Sky Sports cameras.
After picking up their first win of 2021 last Tuesday night against Glenavon, Larne’s title hopes took another dent on Saturday when they could only manage a draw at home to Warrenpoint, who are now unbeaten in two games.
Defending champions, Linfield, were able to take full advantage of the slip up by Tiernan Lynch’s side, they comfortably beat Portadown to move five points clear at the top of the table.
Bottom side Carrick picked up only their second win of the season on Saturday when goals from Mark Surgenor and Jordan Gibson sealed a 2-0 victory against fellow strugglers, Dungannon Swifts. Carrick will hope to make it two in a row tonight but will have to be on top of their game as they host Linfield in a game being shown live on Sky Sports.
Dungannon and Portadown also have tricky games tonight, they face Crusaders and Larne respectively as they try to move themselves away from bottom spot.
The announcement last week that there will be no 2020-2021 season for The Championship and Premier Intermediate League (PIL) mean that there is no relegation from the Premiership this season but no one will be wanting to have to improve on finishing bottom.
