Danske Bank Premiership Roundup Linfield Ballymena

The second round of Danske Bank Premiership fixtures takes place tonight with a total of five games taking place.

Newly promoted side Larne couldn’t have asked for a better start in their first top-flight fixture since 2008 as braces from Martin Donnelly and David McDaid and a goal apiece from Jeff Hughes and Mark Randall sealed a 6-0 win over Warrenpoint. Elsewhere, the other newly-promoted side Carrick Rangers were beaten 3-0 by Crusaders. Tonight the two newly promoted sides meet at the Belfast Loughshore Hotel Arena, Larne obviously go into the game as favorites but it’s worth remembering that of the three games Larne lost in The Championship last season two of them came at the hands of tonight’s opponents.

The other games taking place tonight are as follows, all games kick off at 19:45 unless otherwise stated:-

Carrick Rangers v Larne

Cliftonville v Glenavon

Crusaders v Warrenpoint Town (please note that this match has been moved to Seaview)

Glentoran v Coleraine

Institute v Dungannon Swifts

In our own Danske Bank Premiership prediction league it was Adrian who got off to the strongest start on Saturday as he correctly predicted the correct results in the Glenavon v Glentoran and Coleraine v Cliftonville matches, in fact the only game Adrian didn’t score any points in was Dungannon v Ballymena. This meant that he scored a total of nine points at the weekend, close behind him is Cameron who scored eight points, Cameron correctly predicted a 1-1 draw between Glenavon and Glentoran and a 3-0 win for Crusaders against Carrick and he also predicted the correct outcome in two other games.

Lagging behind at this early stage is defending champion Henry who only managed four points, though he did predict the correct outcome in four of the six matches played.
