SSE Airtricity League Gameweek Two Roundup

It was a bad week for writer’s in the League of Ireland (LOI) Charity Prediction League with only Darren, Adrian and Bryan picking up points from the two midweek games that went ahead on Monday and Tuesday!

Darren correctly predicted that Shelbourne would beat Finn Harps 1-0 on Tuesday night, with Adrian and Bryan picking up a point apiece after they also predicted a Shels win but a different result.

Newly promoted Shelbourne’s win over Harps sees them climb up to 4th in the table as Ian Morris’ side seem to have adapted relatively well to life back in the top flight, Ryan Brennan was the scorer of the only goal on Tuesday.

Monday night’s fixture saw Declan Devine’s Derry City side make the trip to Dublin to take on St. Pat’s at Richmond Park. Devine’s Candystripes had experienced a poor start to the campaign with three defeats, a draw and a win to their name prior to the St. Pat’s game but they managed to get the better of Stephen O’Donnell’s side thanks to goals from James Akintunde and Conor McCormack.

Sligo Rovers were due to play Waterford on Tuesday but that fixture was postponed after a Waterford player began showing signs of Covid-19. The player is currently awaiting test results and we all wish him the best.

After Monday and Tuesday night’s games the SSE Airtricity Premier Division looks like this: –
