The SSE Airtricity League continues this weekend and so does our League of Ireland (LOI) prediction league. There are four fixtures taking place tonight in the Premier Division and one tomorrow. Our panel will be here as usual with all their predictions and we’ll also be revealing the winner of our Danske Bank Premiership prediction league which, ended last week.

There has been a slight change at the top of our leaderboard following Monday night’s LOI fixtures as Darren has opened up a slender one-point lead at the top due to correctly predicting the score in the U.C.D. v Sligo game. He also managed the correct outcomes in the matches between Waterford v Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers v St. Pat’s to get a total of five points to 2nd placed Cameron’s four.

The full leaderboard after Monday’s games is as follows:-

1: Darren46
2: Cameron45
3: Liam42
4: Rodney39
5: Bryan/Keith F38
7: Keith O’D35
8: Adrian31

There are some interesting fixtures this weekend at the top and bottom end of the table. Tonight the bottom two sides meet when Finn Harps welcome U.C.D. to Finn Park. U.C.D are still looking for that all important first win of the season and there would be no better time to get that win than tonight. Victory would see them close the gap on Finn Harps to three points and a defeat would see them fall nine points adrift of guaranteed safety with Finn Harps having played a game less.

Another game that jumps out at me is taking place at Oriel Park where second-placed Dundalk play Declan Devine’s Derry side. Devine has enjoyed a strong start to his second spell in charge of the Candystripes but Dundalk will be spurred on by the chance to put current leaders Shamrock Rovers under some pressure. A win for the Lilywhites would see them move to within a point of Rovers at least until they play tomorrow night.

You can read all about the latest matches in the LOI HERE but in the meantime here is the full league table:-

Last weekend was the last set of matches in the Danske Bank Premiership. Linfield had already been confirmed as league winners and Newry were automatically relegated after a solitary season in the top flight. Ards now face off with Carrick for the right for a spot in the Premiership next season and we now have an Irish Cup final and play-offs to look forward to, but all this seems insignificant as we can finally crown the winner of our first Danske Bank Premiership prediction league.

The leaderboard ended up looking like this:-

1: Henry120
2: Bryan115
3: Cameron/Keith O’D112
5: Adrian110
6: Rodney109
7: Darren107
8: Keith F90

Congratulations to our first winner Henry and we already can’t wait until next season.
