It’s been another busy weekend for the team at Over the Turnstile with the last weekend of the Danske Bank Premiership and the Bluefin Sport Championship and Premier Intermediate League (PIL) taking place on Saturday. There was also a full programme of League of Ireland football (LOI) at the weekend and another full list of LOI Premiership fixtures tonight.

Speaking of which our LOI prediction league continues today and later on, we’ll be showing you the leaderboard after Friday night’s matches and the teams’ predictions for tonight. Later on this week we will be announcing the winner of our Danske Bank Premiership prediction league ahead of this Saturday’s Irish Cup final.

I can confirm that there has been a slight change at the top of our leaderboard as Cameron managed to add four points to his tally to remain in 1st place, but Darren went one better with a total of five points to join Cameron at the top of the table. The rest of the table is really as it was and as would be expected at this still relatively early stage, you could throw a blanket over the table. Here are the standings in full:-

1: Cameron/Darren41
3: Liam39
4: Keith F38
5: Rodney37
6: Bryan35
7: Keith O’D33
8: Adrian29

Looking over the fixtures for tonight the tie that jumps out at me the most is the one taking place at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium where Derry City welcome Bohemians. Only one place and three points separate the sides in the league and a win for the home side could see them jump into third spot.

Shamrock Rovers are still four points clear at the top of the tree despite having lost two on the spin and having played a game more than their nearest challengers, they will be seeking a return to winning ways tonight against St. Patrick’s Athletic.

At the bottom of the table Finn Harps were so close to a first win of the 2019 season on Friday, but having led since just before the break they were denied by a penalty in second-half injury time and will have to try again tonight when they make the trip to Turner’s Cross to take on Cork City.

Here’s how the full league table is looking after Friday’s games:-
