League of Ireland prediction league: week three

It’s the fourth set of league matches in the League of Ireland (LOI) and the third week of our LOI prediction week.

It’s still early days but at the moment the leaderboard looks like this:-

This weekend current league leaders Bohemians will be aiming to keep their perfect start to the season going as they travel to take on Waterford looking for a fourth straight win.

Elsewhere newly promoted UCD sit bottom of the table and have lost all three of their games this season and their prospects of changing that don’t seem to be in their favour as they take on one of this season’s other unbeaten sides in the form of St Pat’s, who go into the game in second spot.

Champions Dundalk have had a mixed start to the season, like St Pat’s and Bohemians they are unbeaten but have managed just the one win in their three league matches so far. A win for Dundalk tonight could potentially see them move into first spot but that would seem unlikely as they would not only need to come out on top in a tricky away fixture against Shamrock Rovers, but they would also need the four other sides currently above them to lose.

There’s only one Danske Bank Premiership game this weekend due to the quarter-finals of the Irish Cup so our Northern Irish prediction is on hold this week but will return next weekend all being well.
