Danske Bank Premiership

There are four games being played in the Danske Bank Premiership this weekend, Carrick Rangers v Coleraine was postponed last week for Covid related reasons and earlier this week Portadown’s home game with Glentoran was postponed for similar reasons. This means that winless Glens will remain at the foot of the table regardless of what happens elsewhere this weekend and by the time they play Linfield on Tuesday, they could be 16 points behind the current league leaders.

In the games that are going ahead this weekend, Ballymena have a home game against Barry Gray’s Warrenpoint side, the visitors to The Ballymena Showgrounds have had a steady start to the season and while Jeffrey’s United team have not won since the opening league game they know a win today will lift them to at least 8th in the table and there is even a chance of them finishing the day in the top half.

Having had slow starts to the season Glenavon and Dungannon seem to have got their seasons back on track somewhat and are unbeaten in four and three games respectively, though they would benefit from some more wins on the board with them only having one apiece so far. They both face tough away games this weekend with Gary Hamilton’s Glenavon men facing the champions, Linfield, at Windsor Park and Dungannon travelling to Seaview to play Crusaders.

In the final game of the weekend Larne host Cliftonville at Inver Park and will be hoping to take advantage of any Linfield slip-ups and possibly move into 1st spot.

Here is the full fixture list, with all games kicking off at 15:00: –
