There is a new leader at the top of the SSE Airtricity Premier Division heading into the latest round of fixtures, consecutive defeats for Shamrock Rovers have seen them drop down to 2nd place while Sligo Rovers climb above them into top spot continuing their strong 2021 season so far.
Further down the table, Dundalk just cannot seem to find any consistency as last week they beat Rovers 2-1 and then were thrashed 5-1 on Monday by a Bohemians side who have also been having a poor season.
Derry’s struggles at home continued on Monday as a late Billy King goal saw St. Pat’s rescue a point at The Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium and leave Ruaidhrí Higgins side still looking for their first home win of the 2021 season.
