SSE Airtricity League: Sligo looking to close gap

Shamrock Rovers currently sit three points clear at the top of the SSE Airtricity Premier Division as we head into the latest round of fixtures.

Having been in European action earlier in the week the table toppers are in action last this round and have to wait until Sunday afternoon to take on Longford, they will go into the game as big favourites against basement side Longford who have only won one game all season.

2nd placed St. Pat’s face Dundalk in a game also being played on Sunday afternoon, they play an inconsistent Dundalk side who currently sit 7th in the table but with two games in hand have their eyes set on moving into the top half of the table.

Sligo have recently slipped six points behind top spot and currently sit 3rd but they have the slight advantage of playing before the two sides above them this weekend and will fancy their chances of closing the gap on top spot for at least a while when they face Finn Harps on Saturday night.
