Last weekend in the SSE Aitricity Premier Division Waterford secured a big win against Finn Harps when they travelled to Finn Park.
Quitirna Junior Armando scored what proved to be the only goal of the game to secure a 1-0 win for Marc Bircham’s side, the result moved them to within four points of their opponents from last week and also moves them six points clear of bottom placed Longford who could only manage a draw at home to Drogheda.
St. Pat’s had a chance to move back on level terms with Shamrock Rovers and Sligo at the top of the table; The Saints were the only side in the top three playing due to both Rovers sides having no games due to European action.
A Christopher Forrester goal was enough to do just that as Stephen O’Donnell’s men saw off Derry City, this was enough to move them back on level terms with the top two but they remain 3rd on goal difference.
Here are the full results from last weekend’s round of fixtures: –

St. Patrick’s Athletic 1-0 Derry City
